Program Overview

The Master of Science in Finance at Walsh is designed to offer a comprehensive understanding of financial theories, enriched by practical, real-world experience in financial analysis, economic analysis, and financial management. This program equips students with the skills to master financial analysis and accounting fundamentals, enabling them to analyze and prepare tax forms and financial statements for businesses. Additionally, students will gain expertise in managing assets, including stocks, bonds, real estate, and derivative securities, while also learning to advise on raising and investing capital, capital structuring, and budgeting. The program also prepares students to perform audits across various industries and businesses and to take on leadership roles in security and investment management.

At Walsh, upon completing the Master of Science in Finance program, students will be equipped to strategize business expansion, manage risks and assets, optimize financial performance, and construct investment portfolios. The curriculum aligns with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification, covering essential topics like equity investments, fixed income securities, and financial analysis. Additionally, the program provides foundational knowledge relevant to the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification, focusing on personal financial planning, wealth management, and tax planning. This prepares graduates for success in both corporate finance and individual financial advising roles.
