Key Rules to Know.

Full-Time Students Only
Walsh visa sponsorship is only available for full-time students. Part-time students must provide proof of existing UAE visa sponsorship.

No Travel Before Entry Permit
Do not purchase flights or travel until your entry permit is issued and confirmed. Do not use the Smart Gate at immigration, manual counters only.

Report to Campus Within 3 Days
You must visit the Walsh UAE campus in Umm Al Quwain within three working days of arrival with your passport and entry permit.

No Travel During Processing
Remain in the UAE throughout visa processing or renewal. Emergency travel requires prior written approval from Walsh Student Services.

Fees Are Non-Refundable
All registration and visa fees, including renewal fees, are non-refundable at every stage under all circumstances.

GCC Nationals Are Exempt
GCC citizens do not require a student visa but must complete a Right to Study check with Walsh Student Services before commencing classes.

The process typically takes 15 to 20 working days from the point all documents and payments are received. Occasionally, applications undergo a security check by UAE authorities which may cause delays beyond Walsh's control. Apply as early as possible.

No. The visa process cannot begin until you have accepted your unconditional offer, cleared all academic conditions, and paid the required fees as specified in your Letter of Offer.

Student visas are valid for 12 months and must be renewed annually. Begin the renewal process at least 45 days before your visa expiry date. You must remain in the UAE throughout the renewal process, no travel is permitted until your renewed visa is stamped.

No. Registration and visa fees are non-refundable at all stages, regardless of withdrawal timing, change of plans, or visa outcome. This also applies to annual renewal fees and medical test fees.

No. Citizens of GCC member states are exempt from the UAE student visa requirement. However, all GCC students must still complete a Right to Study verification with Walsh Student Services before commencing classes, this is a legal requirement.

All UAE student visa holders are legally required to hold Dubai Health Authority (DHA)-compliant health insurance. Walsh facilitates this on your behalf after your Emirates ID application is approved, which typically takes 4 to 6 weeks after arrival. Bring travel insurance from home to cover the interim period.

Student visa holders may undertake internships with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Walsh College UAE. General employment on a student visa requires separate permissions under UAE labour law. Speak with Walsh Student Services before taking any employment.
